On December 12, 2020 God put His loving arms around His heavenly Angel, Willie Mae Stinson and whispered suffer no more, it is time to come home. Willie Mae was born on December 25, 1922, in Epps, Alabama, to the late Willie and Maggie Nelson. She was predeceased by her late loving husband Robert Stinson, beloved son Johnny (Bowtie) Lewis, grandson Anthony Carl Lewis, brothers Roosevelt Nelson, Willie Nelson Jr., sisters Annie Nelson, Margaret Jones, Luvenia Mitchell, and Sarah Miller.She attended Sumter County School System in Livingston, Alabama. She later moved to Birmingham. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at 1st Baptist Church in Epps, Alabama. She later joined Peace Baptist Church where she was a very faithful member on the usher board.She leaves cherishing her memories, loving granddaughter Michelle (John) McIver of Virginia Beach, Virginia, grandson Felipe (Danita) Lewis of Fayette, Georgia, grandson Jonnathon Lewis of Atlanta, Georgia, granddaughter Danielle Lewis of Washington, DC, granddaughter Sonya Wheeler of Atlanta, Georgia and daughter-in-law Meshelle Days-Lewis of Fullerton, CA.She also leaves nine (9) great grandkids Joneice McIver of Virginia Beach, Jasmine McIver of Virginia Beach, Anqaneice Lewis of Atlanta, Jovan McIver of Virginia Beach, Dominique Lewis of Atlanta, Sequoya Wheeler, Mariah Wheeler, and Fred Wheeler of Atlanta, Georgia; two (2) great-great grandkids Jovan Wheeler and Kameron Lewis of Atlanta, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and devoted friends, she loved her Pastor Rev. Caldwell.Special acknowledgement goes out to entire Alford Family. Willie Mae had a very special bond with her " "second family", over 56 years of dedication working and raising her additional extended family. Grandmother had so much love for everyone. Willie Mae will be remembered for her deep, abiding love to everyone that she came in contact with. She would give you the shirt off her back or cook you one of her favorite dishes -- fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, pound cake with caramel Icing, etc.
