Walter Lee Ward Sr. was born January 8, 1955 in Birmingham, AL to the late Lewis Willie Ward Sr. and Azile Lee Stubbs of Selma, AL. He confessed Christ at an early age at First Baptist Zion City Church. He attended services periodically at Lighthouse Church Ministries, Inc. and The Worship Center Christian Church with his lovely daughter, Pastor Joy. He earned his high school diploma from Fultondale High School and joined the United States Army in 1973. He was awarded National Defense Service Medal as a Sharpshooter and ended his military service receiving an Honorable Discharge. He was wedded in Holy Matrimony for 9 years to Wanda Thomas Ward and to this union 3 children were born.Preceding him in death is the late Brenda Ward Crowder (sister), Johnny Ward, and Earnest Ward (brothers). He leaves to cherish his memories his loving & devoted children: Walter Lee Ward Jr., Joycelynn (Clay) Johnson, and Kristi (Marcus) Laister all of Birmingham, AL. Lewis Ward Jr., brother of Brisbane, Australia; Brenda Joyce Ward, sister-in-love of Waco, Texas, Deborah Williamson, sister-in-love, Birmingham, AL, Georgia Ward, sister-in-love of Birmingham, AL, and Michael Crowder, brother-in-love of Vestavia, AL. Four granddaughters: Miss Cheyenne Chantelle Johnson, Miss Chari Chenise Johnson, Miss Courtlyn Chrisette Laister, and Miss Charity Chevonne Johnson. Two grandsons: Master Camden Christian Laister and Master Cobe Clay Johnson. His special friends: John Henry Williams, Mr. Richardson, Larry (Barbara) Coachman, and his Penfield Park Crew.
