Walter was born November 25, 1949, on Thanksgiving Day, to JamesLee Kendrick, Sr. and Frances Kendrick.He was a graduate of Jackson Olin High School, Class of 1957. He joined the United States Marines shortly after completing high school and served in the Vietnam War.Walter had a heart of gold. He was kind, soft-spoken and never complained about anything. He lived by Paul's writings in Philippians 4:11B, "For I have learned in whatsoever state I am therewith to be content."He leaves to cherish his memory: brothers, James l. Kendrick, Jr. (Bessie), Barry l. Kendrick (Claudette) and Samuel miles (Janis) of Gary, Indiana; sisters, Brenda K. Curtis, minister Barbara K. Stewart (Johnny) and Jeanette K. Davis, all of Birmingham, Alabama; a host ofcousins, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends; as well as residents, workers, faculty and staff of Birmingham Nursing and rehabilitation Center located at 1000 Dugan Avenue, Birmingham, Alabama.
