Tommie P. Blanton

Tommie Blanton was born on April 17, 1940 in Birmingham, Alabama to two loving parents, the late Mr. & Mrs. Charlie Pearson. At an early age, she confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior as a devoted member of Thirgood Memorial Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. She later joined Walking on Water Christian Church and served faithfully under Rev. Dr. Karnie Smith until she transitioned into eternity on March 29, 2019.She was educated within the Birmingham City Schools System beginning with Carrie A. Tuggle and graduating from A. H. Parker High School. She also worked as an Administrator in the Birmingham City School System until retirement. Tommie married Orlanda Blanton, Jr. who preceded her in death. She was the epitome of a loving , dedicated and devoted wife and mother.Tommie is survived by three of her four children James (Patrice) Blanton, Patrick Blanton, Beatrice Blanton, (Ocie S. Blanton preceded her in death), her sister Earnestine Braxton; all of Birmingham, Alabama; and a host of dear grandchildren and great grandchildren and other family members and friends.
