Tamela Denise Jones

Tamela Denise. Jones was born January 8, 1966 at Madigan Army Medical Center, Fort Lewis, Washington to Jesse Jones Jr., and the late Azalene C. Pouncy. Tamela confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, Penfield Park, Birmingham, Alabama.Tamela attended Woodlawn High School in Birmingham, Alabama, where she was a flag girl in the Woodlawn High School Colonels Marching Band, and she also served as a musician for her class. She graduated in the year of 1984. She furthered her education by attending Troy State University on an oratorical scholarship.She continued to show her dedication and her love for music by serving as church musician for many years. Tamela had a contagious smile, a giving and loving spirit for everyone, and never met a stranger.She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. David R. Pouncy of Birmingham, Alabama and Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Jones of Hueytown, Alabama, and her loving mother, Azalene C. Pouncy.She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her father, Jesse (Barbara) Jones of Shreveport, Louisiana, her sister, Yoland'e (Christopher) Packer, and brother, Glenn (Vickie) Jones, all of Birmingham, Alabama; her nephew, Talmadge C. Packer; nieces, Dominique M. Jones, Taylor I. Packer, Tonesa N. Jones. and Trinity N. Packer; her uncles, Earnest (Nancy) Pouncy of Flint, Michigan, and Norman (Geneva) Jones and Donald (Minnie) Jones of Birmingham, Alabama; several aunts, Annie M. Stoudemire, Dicie Wilkerson and Mattie Jones, all of Birmingham, Alabama; other devoted relatives and friends, including a dear friend, Jennifer Watters.
