Shirley Ann Adams was born on November 21, 1946, to the late Emmett Adams and Jessie Mae Wagner Adams. She was the first of five children.At an early age, Shirley accepted Christ. She sang in the choir and was on the Usher Board at Zion Springs Baptist Church, Avondale in Birmingham, Alabama. In 2010, she joined Saints' Tabernacle Church of the Lord Jesus Christ currently in Fairfield, Alabama. She enjoyed what she loved to do which was encouraging others through stories, poems and scripture.Shirley attended Lincoln Elementary School; started her Freshman year at Arthur Harold Parker High School and later, finished her last three years graduating from Carol W. Hayes High School in 1965. After receiving her license in nursing, she worked at Community Hospital, also known as Holy Family Hospital. In October 2013, she retired from nursing after 40 years of service.During the late evening of October 10, 2021, the Lord whispered for His child to come home. Shirley transitioned from this earthly life. Preceding her in death in November 2020, was a younger brother, Kenneth Adams.She leaves beautiful, precious memories to her one daughter, Kenya Long (James) Pope; two grandchildren, Caleb and Catelyn Pope; two sisters, Rhoda Poole and Shelia Penn; one brother, Edward Adams. She also leaves precious memories to nieces, nephews, cousins, close family and friends.
