Samuel Collins, Jr. Obituary

Samuel Alexander Collins, Jr. was born to the union of Samuel Collins, Sr. and Cynthia Collins on July 25,1972. Over the years, Sam had a deep and abiding faith in Christ. He always trusted Him to lead him in the right direction as he continued to develop and build upon his spiritual foundation. In 1991, he was a proud graduate from Hewitt Trussville High School. He went on to attend Talladega College, however, chose not to be a scholar and received a certification as a Personal Trainer as well as obtained a Commercial Driver License (CDL).Sam had a contagious smile and sense of humor that was pleasing to all. He loved fishing and hunting and was someone who everyone enjoyed being around. He showed equal love to any and everyone who crossed his path. If he could help you, he would even if it was just a word of wisdom and encouragement. Family was his priority; he cherished every second he had with his children and grandchildren. Also, he was the best son, brother, father, grandfather and friend to grace the earth. As a teacher, he will forever be appreciated for the countless roads of life he taught about, talked about and shared with others. His family, other loved ones and friends were saddened on August 27, 2024, while surrounding him during his transition at the City of Hope Cancer Center in Newman, Georgia. Gathered to comfort each other in grief, mourn his passing and cherish his loving memories are his loving mother, Cynthia Collins; his devoted and loving partner, Amanda Woody;  three sons, Samuel A. Johnson, Tyler D. Johnson and Samuel T. (Meagan) Williams; two daughters, Gabriel Johnson and Asha Johnson; four grandsons, Jorden Johnson, Jeiden Johnson, MaSiah Johnson and Samuel A. Johnson, Jr.; one granddaughter, Zaria Johnson; two sisters, Veneca Collins and Tanjaneka (Jermerial) Sanders; and a host of other relatives and friends.
