Obituary

Robert Williams, II peacefully ascended to be with our Heavenly Father on April 5, 2013, after a gradual decline in health. Robert was born February 2, 1925 to the late Robert Williams and Ethel Tolbert Williams. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at his lifelong church, Bethel Baptist of Birmingham, Alabama. Robert served as Assistant Teacher of ABC Dyson Sunday School class and also served as Deacon for many years until he was no longer able to physically attend church. Robert was a graduate of A.H. Parker High School class of 1942. He furthered his education by attending Tuskegee Institute and later obtaining his B.S. degree in Mathematics from Miles College, Birmingham, Alabama and obtaining a Master's degree in Statistics from UAB. The thirst for knowledge was an attribute that was enshrined within him. Robert was united in Holy Matrimony to Lois Evonne Carter on April 4, 1947, with whom he celebrated 66 years of marriage on Thursday, April 4, 2013; from this union, they were blessed with two sons. Robert is survived by his wife Lois Williams, two sons Robert III (Falvie), Rodney Sr. (Janice); five grandchildren, Yolanda Evans, Dallas, Texas, Robert Williams IV (Senethia), Candace Williams, Rodney, Jr. (Kimberly), Atlanta, Georgia, Rian Williams, Chantilly, Virginia, six great grandchildren, Charity Woodley, Dallas, Texas, Joy Williams, Arianna Brown, Atlanta, Georgia Brendon Williams, Byron Williams, Brian Williams and Joy Williams. Other beloved family members include: sister, Ann McCullum, Atlanta, Georgia, great-niece Dr. Jill Scott, Memphis, Tennessee, very special cousin Eddie Harris, Trenton, New Jersey, stepmother-in-law Mrs. Julia Mae Carter, Mesa, Arizona, two sisters-in-law Sandra White, Las Vegas, Nevada and Beverly Haynes, Mesa, Arizona, and the following brothers-in-law, Leroy (Delores), Los Angeles, California, Norris (Debra), Rayford (Deloris), Donald, Las Vegas, Nevada, Ronald, Gerald and Anthony Carter, Detroit, Michigan and many extended family members and friends. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Robert Williams, mother, Ethel Tolbert Williams and sister, Carrie Lawler.
