Rebecca Lee (Hawkins) Crenshaw

Rebecca Lee Hawkins “Becky” was born on
October 24, 1968, to the late Joseph and Nancy
Hawkins in Birmingham, Alabama.
She confessed to Christ at an early age at Community
Pentecostal Church.
Rebecca graduated from Warrior High School. She
later got two degrees and graduated from Virginia
College. She retired as a senior patient representative
of UAB Hospital in 2023. She was dearly loved by
many. She lived her best life. She was very active in the
church with the youth team. She loved to praise dance
and worship God. She had a smile that could light up
the room when she entered it. She loved spending time
with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nancy
and Joseph Hawkins, Sr.; siblings, William Hawkins,
Henry McDonald, Sr., Joseph Hawkins, Jr., Anderson
Hawkins, and Renetta Fields; grandparents, Vertie
Murray, Nancy Childers, John Smith, James Hawkins,
and Mary Hawkins; uncles, David Purifoy and Jerome
Fields; sister-in-law, Angela Hawkins; and nephews,
Nicholas McDonald and Frederick Hawkins.
She leaves to cherish: two daughters, Nyika (Denarvis)
Crenshaw and Terri (Deuntae) Gillis; ten grandkids,
Dakwon, Denajah, Makiah, Malachi, Manijan,
Malaijan, Frank Jr., Rodriguez, Raniyah, and
Denarria; sisters, Pastor Ivy (Robert) Lucky, Nan
(Toby) Vaughn, Rosa Hawkins, Abigail Gambles, and
Debra Neely of Dayton, OH; brothers, Willie Hawkins,
Harry (Gwendolyn) McDonald, and Joe Frank Marsh
of Cincinnati, Ohio; special friend, Dedric Logan;
aunts, Rose Fields and Ann Mack; uncles, Reverend
Theodore (Agnes) Hines and William Hines; special
cousins, Tara Walker and Tasha (Brian) Dublin;
special sisters, Kim Wallace and Kim Collins; and a
host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
