From an early age, Patricia embraced Christ as her Lord and Savior with an open heart. She later became a member of Providence Christian Ministries, dedicating her life to Him until He called her home.
Patricia completed her education within the Birmingham City School System, graduating from A.H. Parker High School in 1970. While at A.H. Parker, she proudly served as a spirited majorette, known for her feisty personality and distinctive figure. She was blessed with two beautiful daughters, Nichole Fenison and Kewana Lake, whom she cherished deeply and affectionately referred to as chocolate and vanilla.
Fondly called “Pat” or even “Blondie” by her loved ones, Patricia had an immense love for her family. Those who knew her will remember her for her mouthwatering fried chicken, liver and rice, sweet potato pies and homemade potato salad. Family gatherings held a special place in her heart, especially when they included her favorite pastime: playing bingo.
Patricia, a cherished daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, cousin, and friend, is remembered fondly by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents and her youngest brother, Anthony Herd. She leaves behind a legacy that celebrates her life, which includes two loving daughters: Nichole Fenison from Pinson, AL, and Kewana Lake (Anthony) from Montevallo, AL. Her legacy also encompasses two wonderful grandchildren, Keni Herd of Pinson, AL, and Kevunn McConico of Birmingham, AL; a devoted sister, Delores Johnson (Anthony) of Birmingham, AL; and three protective brothers: Charles Herd Jr. (Jacqueline) of Peachtree, GA, Dwight Herd (Carmen) of Birmingham, AL, and Jeffery Herd of Birmingham, AL. Additionally, her sister cousin, LaQuita Rogers (Michael) from Birmingham, AL, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends, cherish her memory.
