Otis B. Chapman, Sr.

Otis Bernard Chapman, Sr., was born October 17, 1948, to Mrs. Willie Sanders Chapman and Mr. Charlie Chapman, Sr., in Birmingham, Alabama. He received his education in the Birmingham school system.He met the love of his life, Linda Catlin and they were united in holy matrimony on February 6, 1968. They lived in the Rosedale community of Homewood, where they raised six children. Otis was a hard worker who retired from the city of Homewood after thirty two years on the job. He was a very loving and caring man to all that he knew. He was very humble, creative, and outgoing and he made friends wherever he went. He constantly created smiles on the faces of others wherever he went.Otis Bernard Chapman, Sr., departed this life on Sunday, December 19, 2021.He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Charlie Chapman, Sr., and his daughter, Linda.He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of fifty-three years, Linda Chapman; five children, Otis Chapman, Jr., Antuan Chapman, Anthony Chapman, Lindsey Chapman, and Leslie Chapman; thirteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
