Otha Lee Woods, Jr. was born on December 11, 1945, in
Trussville, Alabama to the late Otha Lee Woods, Sr and Julia Mae
Woods. He was preceded in death by his daughter (Cherlena S.
Turner), son (Miguel C. Woods), grandson (Jeremiah L. Rice),
parents, four sisters, and one brother.
After graduating high school, Otha enlisted in the United States
Air Force from 1964 until 1966. After his military service, he
attended college to become a master barber. His dream and passion
were to open his own barber shop, which he accomplished in both
Florida and Alabama for many years.
Although he spent many years in Florida, he spent his last years
residing in Birmingham, Alabama, enjoying his grandchildren and
family.
Otha transitioned on June 13, 2025, leaving behind his children:

Esther, FL and daughter, Tiffany Woods O’Brien (David),
Columbus, GA; Two brothers: Ronald D. Woods, Birmingham,
AL, Robert Turner, San Jose, CA; one sister, Cathy L. Jackson,
Birmingham AL; Twenty-five grandchildren and twenty-one great
grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and
friends.
