Mary Louise Moody-Adams was born on October 28, 1929, to the late Jack and Rosebud Moody. She transitioned from this life on Sunday, May 2, 2021.Mary was baptized in the name of Jesus and received the gift of the Holy Ghost at 17thStreet A.O.H. Church of God, under the leadership of the late Bishop Jasper Roby. Shecontinued to serve faithfully at the A.O.H. Church of God Cathedral and New JerusalemA.O.H. Church of God, under the leadership of the late Bishop G.W. Ayers, and finally atthe Cathedral of the Cross A.O.H. Church of God, under the current leadership of BishopPhillip Wright. She was a dedicated member of the Mother's Ministry, Usher Board, SundaySchool, and Kitchen Committee. She was a minister of the gospel and was dearly beloved byher A.O.H. church family.She was educated in the Birmingham City School System, where she later became anemployee. She retired from the Birmingham City School System in 1993.Mother Adams was well-known for her exceptional cooking, beautiful smile, and sweetspirit.She married the love of her life, Fredrick Douglas Adams, in 1947, and to this union, elevenchildren were born. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Jack and Rosebud Moody; her husband, Fredrick Douglas Adams; six siblings; three children, Selena, Donald, and Lonnie; one granddaughter, Sikiesha; and one grandson, Frederick.She leaves to cherish her loving memories: two sons, Andrew (LaTonya) and Anthony; six daughters, Freddie, Rosemary (Charles), Eather, Diane (Bill), Linda (Rufus), Sharon (Darnell), and a special chosen daughter, Shaquella (Rodrick), all of Birmingham, AL; one sister, Elizabeth Moody; two daughters-in-law, Harriet Adams and Teresa Adams; one sister-in-law, Ann Moody; forty-five grandchildren, eighty-five great-grandchildren; seventeen great-great-grandchildren; godchildren, Towanna Berry, Alma Wilson, Preston Mallory, Arthur Williams, Elder Rose Carmichael, Ruenell Bettis, Nayretha Lee-Haynes, Elder Walter Powell, Beverly Kimbrough, Lanard and Vita Parker, Vanessa Smith, Billy Parker, Anthony Burt, Martha Hulette, the late Elizabeth McCreary, Deacon Wayne Williams, Bishop Edmond, Lloyd Dunklin, Jr., Maxine Dunklin, Ms. Bernice Dunklin, Lloyd Dunklin; and a host of other relatives and friends.
