Martha Bishop was born July 19, 1942, in West Memphis, Arkansas to Essie Taylor and Walter Bell, who preceded her in death. Martha confessed Christ at an early age and became a member of the AOH Church of God.
At the time of her death she was a member of the Woodland Park AOH Church of God. Martha was an avid worker in her church. She was very family oriented, she spent most of her life raising her children and others, teaching them how important it was to have a relationship with God. She was a Proverbs 31 wife, who loved her husband dearly. The wisdom and love she leaves behind will always be felt.
She enjoyed fishing, cooking, and reading her bible. Her favorite quote was “I’ll drop a dime on you and get a nickel change.”
She was preceded in death by her five siblings. Martha leaves to cherish her loving memory: her husband, James Earl Bishop of Birmingham, AL; seven children, Lester Burrell, Patricia Watson (Phillip Watson), who preceded her in death, Arma Easley of Southbend, IN, William (Felicia) Burrell, Rochell (Ronnie Jackson) Burrell of Caruthersville, MO, Jamie (Charlie Ware) Bishop, and Karen (Lester) Bishop-Holt of Birmingham, AL; and one sister, Blanche Allen of Springfield, MO. Martha also had a host of grands, great-grands, nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends
