Mariah L. Poellnitz

Mother Mariah was an angel sent from Heaven on October 8, 1927, to the late Mr. Henryand Mrs. Sallie Love.She loved going to Sunday school, singing in the choir, and assisting in cooking for herchurch under the leadership of Bishop Jasper Roby at A. O. H. Cathedral. She joined theMother's Board and continued her Christian duty. She was a graduate of Selma InstituteHigh School and Miles College. She retired from the Birmingham Board of Educationwith 26 years of service.She was united in holy matrimony to the late Unree Poellnitz, Sr. From this union, wereborn three children.She is survived by: her children, Unree, Jr. (Pearl), Lucious, and Brenda; godson, Frank(DeWonda) Mitchell and family; two sisters, Jennie Rouse and Melinda Wall; granddaughter,Anita; and numerous nieces and nephews.
