Obituary

Marcia Dee Carlisle Zeigler was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 19, 1957 to Wilma C. Carlisle and the late Henry Carlisle. They later relocated to Birmingham, Alabama where she grew up in the Airport Highland area. Marcia confessed Christ through baptism as a young child under the leadership of the Rev. William Payne. She joined in fellowship with the Ninevah Baptist Church, serving faithfully for many years. She later moved membership to the New Testament Baptist Church under leadership of the Rev. Jonathan Thomas, where she served until her passing. She joined in holy matrimony with Donald Ray Zeigler, Sr. To this union, two children were born, Candace Rae and Donald Ray, Jr. (D.J.). She had a genuine love for her family, always caring for and nurturing them. Marcia received her education in the Birmingham School System, graduating from Erwin High School and later from Jefferson State Junior College. She worked faithfully with numerous church and civic groups. She has been a valuable employee at Jefferson State Junior College for the past twenty-plus years. The doors to heaven opened for her reception on Sunday, August 26, 2007. She will be greatly missed.
