Lou Ella Genous was born May 13, 1947, in Montgomery, Alabama, to Ludie Mae Martin andHenry Lee Davenport.She was educated by the public school system.In 1965, LouElla moved to Chicago, Illinois, where she met, fell in love with, and married FloydGenous, Jr., and to this union, three children were born: DeWanda, Yolanda, and Darrel.In 1989, LouElla and Floyd made the decision to move to Yazoo City, Mississippi, until Floydgained his wings.In 1991, LouElla made the decision to move back home to Alabama to live out her life.LouElla accepted Christ at an early age. In Illinois. she was a member of Mt. Olive C.O.G.I.C.under the leadership of Bishop William Bonner, until she moved her membership to Mt. Victory C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Pastor Pruitt. When she moved to Birmingham, she became a faithful member of First Missionary Baptist Church. She was a faithful member of the Experience Singles Sunday School Class, The Widow and Widowers Ministry, and the Usher Board.LouElla transitioned to her heavenly home on May 6, 2021. She was preceded in death by herparents, Ludie Martin and Henry Davenport; her husband, Floyd Genous, Jr.; her brother,Joecephus Davenport; her sister, Janice Hooten; her son, Darrel Genous; and her grandson, Lakim Young.Her legacy lives on through her children, DeWanda Genous and Yolanda Bills, both of Birmingham, AL; her step-son, Benjamin Genous of Chicago, IL; her sister, Letha (Jeremiah) Richardson of Detroit, MI; her brothers, Albert Davenport of Birmingham, AL, and Anthony and Harry Davenport, both of Montgomery, AL; six grandchildren, Anthony Genous, Latoya (Tiara) Drish, Amberlin (Calvin) Nash, Rashida Young, Zoe Genous, and Aishia Young; 12 great-grandchildren; her goddaughter, Kanisha (Wayne) McCarroll; and a host of other relatives and friends.
