Lennett Ravizee Brownlee Taylor was born on July 22, 1951, to Reverend John Henry Ravizee and Mittie Gray Ravizee. As a young child, Lennett placed her hands on tables, chairs, and window seals, pretending to play the piano while singing. She received Christ at a very early age and joined St. Luke Baptist Church of Cairo. At age 10 and 11, she was under the training of Mrs. Geraldine Givan. At the age of 12, she played for the Sunday School for St. Luke Baptist Church. As a teenager, she joined Emanuel Temple Holiness Church under the leadership of Bishop Isaiah Jackson. While there, she was water baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost. Her cousin, Leola Ravizee Means, also trained her to play the organ while travelling with the group, "The Spirit of Harmony," of Bessemer, Alabama. She also sang with her younger sisters, "The Ravizee Singers." She founded the "Family of Praise," merging and introducing the next generation of Ravizee Singers. While attending AG Gaston Junior High and Wenonah High School, she assisted her choir teachers by playing the piano for the choirs and special singing groups. In September of 1969, Lennett was united in marriage with Mr. Eddie Frank Brownlee. To this union, six children were born. Down through the years, she sang and played for many groups and choirs.
