Kathleen McAdory Obituary

Mrs. Kathleen Cobb McAdory was the eldest child born to the late Johnny and Glover McClendon Cobb in Dolomite, Alabama. She confessed Christ at an early age and joined The First Baptist Church Ninth Street in Bessemer AL. After marriage she united with the Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, Shades Valley. She was educated in the Bessemer School system graduating from Dunbar High School. She was employed at Daniel Payne College, Jefferson County School System, and Birmingham School System. She retired from the Birmingham School system after serving the students and staff of Wenonah High School for 26 years as the Child Nutrition Program Manager. She passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 85. She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Edward McAdory; husband of 61 years, Edward McAdory; sisters, Janice Cobb Johnson, and Pamela Cobb Singleton, brother, Ralph Cobb Sr; and special aunt, Rosa Mae Driver. Survivors include: sons, Eric McAdory (Miriam) of Helena, and Gary McAdory of McCalla; sisters, Mabel Robinson (Carl), Rosalind Carter, Anita Harvey, all of Dallas, TX; brothers, Johnny Cobb, Jr. and Thomas Cobb of Dallas, TX; brother in law, Jerry Singleton of Moreno Valley, CA; grandchildren, Marlania Batley, Khristan McAdory, Nicholas McAdory, Latazia Henderson, and Sabrina Short; the newest member to her family, great grandchild Kyndrix Rumley (her KEE KEE); special protégé, Mrs. Valerie Bursey, Farmington Hills, MI; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
