John H. Franklin

Deacon John H. Franklin, Jr., was born November 3, 1949, in Jefferson County, to the late John, Sr., and Mattie Franklin. He was the second oldest of six children. He attended school in the Jefferson County school system. He was a 1968 graduate of North Jefferson High School. He was employed at Metal Plate Galvanizing for 34 years.He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mattie Franklin; one sister; two brothers; and two children.He was a member of First Baptist Village Springs and later moved his membership to Copper Springs Baptist Church.On September 28, 2020, at 11:15 a.m., surrounded by his family, Deacon Franklin left his earthly home to go to his heavenly home.He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving wife, Mrs. Stella Franklin of Birmingham, Alabama; brother, Pastor Rodney D. (Regina) Franklin of Village Springs, Alabama; sister, Mrs. Linda D. (Darryl) Parker of Birmingham, Alabama; three grandchildren, Ashley,Jasmine, and Tommie; nine great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Faye (Elder Robert) Farmer of Birmingham, Alabama, and Mrs. Shannon Franklin of Macon, Georgia; three stepsons, Christopher, Rumoine, and Kelvin Parker; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts,uncles, and cousins.
