Janice M. Dinkins

Janice M. Dinkins was born December 19, 1961 in Bedford, Virginia, to the late Mr. Jimmie Whorley, Sr. and Mrs. Elsie Whorley (Powell). She surrendered her life to Christ as a young girl and remained devoted to God throughout her journey here on earth. She met, fell in love with and married Rev. Edwin Dean Dinkins, Love of her life. Janice and Edwin spent 34 married years together before she was called home to be with the Lord.Janice earned an undergraduate degree from Paine College and master's degree in education from Augusta State University, Augusta, Georgia; she later earned an Education Specialist (Certification) Degree from Lincoln Memorial University, Harrogate, Tennessee. She worked as an educator at Glenn Hills Middle School, Augusta, Georgia and later at Homewood Middle School in Homewood, Alabama.She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmie and Elsie Whorley; mother-in- law Mary Dinkins and father-in-law Alexander Dinkins; sister-in-law Adrienne Whorley and a host of other family members.She leaves behind to cherish her memory: her husband, Rev. Edwin Dinkins; two sisters, Sylvia Whorley and Lisa Whorley-Richardson (husband - David Richardson); one brother, Jimmie Whorley, Jr.; two nephews Terrence Eaton and Jimmie Whorley, III, one niece Brandy Whorley (husband - Anthony Gallinoto); one grand-niece Adriana Gallinoto; host of aunts, uncles, other family members and friends.
