Janice G. Brewster

Ms. Janice Gail Brewster was born on June 5, 1951, to the late Mr. Nathaniel Burrow, Sr., and Mrs. Mattie Lois Woods Burrow, in Pinson, Alabama. She was the first of seven children born to this union."Cookie", as she was affectionately known, along with her sister, Barbara, devoted their young lives to taking care of their siblings after the death of their mom in 1974. She made sure they were all able to stay together and receive a formal education in the Jefferson County School System, as she had been able to do.She decided to start her own family and become Mom to Eunice Faye Burrow Mickles and Alicia Maria Burrow.As a young lady, she joined Greater Liberty Baptist Church.Cookie was a hard-working lady. She worked at St. Regis and Union Camp Paper Company, Fuji Film, and many other jobs. She did whatever it took to make ends meet.Janice departed this life at the age of 68, on January 9, 2020. She leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters, Eunice Faye and Alicia Maria; four sisters, Barbara Brown, Mary (Ronnie) Brown, Shirley (Rev. Benjamin) Payne, and Sylvia Robinson, all of Birmingham, Alabama; two brothers, Nathaniel (Juanette) Burrow, Jr., and Michael (Donna) Burrow, both of Birmingham, Alabama; two much anticipated grandchildren, Roman Mickles and Kendra Scott; two honorary grandchildren, Kristin Burrow and Cassidy Burrow; a special nephew and caregiver, David Burrow; a very special friend, Gracie Whitson; six aunts, two uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
