James Otis Poole, known to family and friends as "Butch", was born on January 7, 1955, in Pensacola, Florida. Butch confessed Christ at an early age. He was educated in the Pensacola, New York City, and Birmingham City School System. Butch was employed with the Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center for 10 years. He was most passionate about his work at the Fellowship House. Immediately following his recovery, he rededicated his life to Christ. Above all, he was a faithful member and an usher at Agape Missionary Baptist Church. Butch made a peaceful transition to eternal life on February 11, 2020. He is preceded in death by his mother, Johnnie Mae Freenie; sister, Elaine Poole; and nephew, Derrick Poole. He leaves behind: a loving and dedicated wife, Adrienna J. Poole; daughter, Jenamico Warren; grandson, Jakilin Williams; brother, Larnell Whittington; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends who loved him dearly.
