One writer has said, "One generation succeeds another, as wave follows wave," and so it is with that thought we mourn the passing of one who has proven himself faithful, loving, and kind. There remains another generation to succeed him, to follow the prints he has made upon the sands of time. James L. Frazier was born on January 31, 1943, in Birmingham, Alabama. He was the fifth of six children born to Alexander and Minnie Poole Frazier. He was a graduate of Holy Family High School and attended Miles College. He professed Christ at an early age and was baptized in the Catholic Church. He remained faithful to his religion until his death. In 1967, he moved to Carson, California and began his employment in 1972 with the County of Los Angeles Department of Health Services (LAC-DHS) at Martin Luther King Hospital. James was an advocate for education and career advancement. In 1981, he enrolled in the LAC, Pharmacy Technician Internship Program. After thirty-two years of County service, James retired on April 21, 2001 from Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center. In 1973, Jim met and fell in love with Paulette Marie Brooks. They were married on June 28, 1975. He was a devoted son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, godparent, friend and neighbor. Their thirty-two years together were filled with unconditional love, fun, laughter, traveling, entertaining and pulling slot machines. As a couple, they were rarely seen apart. James was affectionately called Jim or Jim-Bo by those who loved him most. He will be missed by his family and all who knew him. Jim was a lovable person who went to his Christian reward on October 23, 2007. This tribute should bear some comfort to his loving family and friends; we can only say that his beautiful life on earth has ended and the next phase in eternity has begun. Jim leaves to cherish his precious memories, wife, Paulette Frazier; sisters, Dolores Booker of Birmingham, Alabama; Loretta Maxwell (Vernon) of Carson, California and Anna McCracken of Los Angeles, California; one aunt, Countess Poole Moore (Charles) of Birmingham, Alabama and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A LIFE WELL LIVED, A LIFE THAT WILL BE MISSED.
