James Vincent Edwards

James Vincent Edwards (58) was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 25, 2022. Throughout his life he worked hard and always showed how much he cared about his family.James was born on July 17, 1963 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Jack Edwards and Essie Mae Faulk Edwards. He was the sixth child born to this union. James graduated from Warrior High School in 1982 and shortly thereafter enlisted in the US Army National Guard - 131st Signal Battalion where he served from 1984 to 2005. He joined Reno Refractories and with time and dedication became a supervisor which allowed him to help get many others employment. He confessed his faith in Christ and joined the St. James United Methodist Church under the leadership of Pastor Theodore Hines. Throughout the years, James served as a Trustee, Lay Speaker, Male Chorus member and President of the Men's Department.James was a diehard Auburn fan with a big heart and a kind spirit. He was the type of person to check in when others were sick or in need. He would never hesitate to lend a helping hand and he would give you the shirt off his back. James also loved children and could often be found sneaking candy to kids in church.James is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Essie Mae Edwards, his sisters, Joyce Gail Glover and Jacqueline Bernice Ogletree, and son, Michael Drain.James will definitely be missed by all who knew him. He leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Paula Edwards; one daughter, Tareka Ellsberry; one son, Matthew Drain; eight grandchildren, Kieley, Serenity, Brooklyn, Jada, Austin, Raven, Sydney and Savannah; one great granddaughter, Paisley; one sister, Agnes (Pastor Theodore) Hines; two brothers, Daryl Edwards and Jeffrey Edwards; two aunts, Willie Marie Porter and Carrie Givhan; Mother-in-law Linda (Earvin)Yeager; brother-in-law Randy Gill; one godson Brian Hawkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
