Ingrid was born in Pell City, Alabama, to the late Jane Ethel
Murphy and the late Hilbert McGraw.
She confessed Christ at an early age at the Mt. Olive Baptist
Church under the leadership of the late Herbert Shorter as
pastor. She graduated from Moody High School.
Ingrid enjoyed several things. She was a crafty person who
loved everyone. She loved to be around anything that had to do
with food. She worked at several restaurant jobs: McDonald’s,
Hardee’s, Burger King, Cracker Barrel, and Captain D’s.
Ingrid answered the savior’s call on April 20, 2025, in her
sleep at home. She was preceded in death by her parents,
grandparents, uncles, and aunts.
Ingrid leaves to cherish her memories: a loving and devoted
daughter, Sharonda Denee Murphy; stepmother, Gwendolyn
McGraw; four sisters, Cecilia Murphy Thorns (Boise),
Jacqueline McGraw Smith, Tracy McGraw, and Angie
Whetstone; one brother, Eric Murphy (Amy); one brother-in-
love, Rethell Davis (Barbra); two godbrothers, Robert Kinney,
Jr., and Demonte Holyfield (Christina); three nieces, Sabrina
Murphy, Ashlee McGraw, and Asia Smith; two nephews,
Toris Murphy and Marwin Smith; one great-nephew, Landyn
McBride; two goddaughters, Jessica Evans and Keisha Mitchell;
three sisters-in-love, Jackie Hill, Jennifer Witmore (Bill),
Carnetta Holman Brown, Nakia Kinney Fomby (Kenny); and
brother-in-love, Pastor Ceary Emory (Chris).
