Gregory McGee, Jr., was born on
December 31, 1973, to Gregory McGee, Sr., and Ida
Austin in Birmingham, Alabama. He was an active
deacon devoted to God his entire life. Gregory
had a special calling on his life and made a lasting
impression on all that he touched as a man of God
and a devoted father, son, grandfather, uncle, and
brother.
Throughout his lifetime, he traveled all over the south
playing his bass guitar to honor and lift the word
and will of God whenever he had the opportunity.
He was a man who believed in a good laugh, but also
hard work. He was an exceptional tradesman, with
skills that allowed him to travel and share his gifts
across many states and cities.
During his lifetime, he was preceded in death by his
father(s), Gregory McGee Sr., and Jimmie Austin, Jr.
To carry his teachings, love, blessings, and cherish
his many memories are his loving mother, Ida
Austin; sisters: Jacqueline Purce (Michael Purce)
and Jessica McGee; brother: Jeremy McGee; five
sons: Jimmy McGee, Gregory McGee III, Maalik
Camp, Sebastian McGee, and Raheem Haynes; two
daughters: Tamara McGee (David Thomas), and
Christina McGee; three grandchildren to carry on
his legacy, Samantha McGee Washington, Mason
McGee, and Jeremiah McGee; and a host of nieces,
nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
