Emma Jones Obituary

EMMA JEAN ROBINSON JONES was born April 17, 1948, in Overton, Alabama, to the late Emmitt and Mary Ann Robinson. She was united in holy matrimony to Clarence Jones of Riley, Alabama, and they shared 37 years of marital bliss, as well as two children: Michelle and Fredrick Robinson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmitt and Mary Ann Robinson; three sisters, Shirley Harris, Shelia, and Brenda Robinson; and her son, Fredrick Robinson.Emma Jean worked hard most of her life, providing for her family, whom she loved. She had a great talent and love for cooking and baking for her family, friends, and neighborhood. She also shared her caring and kindness with two families she loved: the Basingers and the Mortons. She never met a stranger, and those who had the pleasure of knowing her, knew on Sundays, you could always get a true Southern home-cooked meal, an ice-cold Pepsi, and a slice of homemade pound cake. She enjoyed life, and those close to her will truly miss her. She leaves to cherish her memory: a devoted husband, Clarence Jones; a loving daughter, Michelle Robinson (Benjamin Moore); two brothers, Maurel Robinson (Cynthia) and Roosevelt Catlin (Shirley); five sisters, Dorothy Kindred, Mary Hubbard (Clarence Hearns), Linda Robinson, Cathy Robinson (Edward Eaton), and Janice Robinson; two granddaughters, Ashley Robinson and Erin Willis; two grandsons, Brandon Robinson and Isaiah Robinson; a sister-in-law, Joyce Booker (William); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
