Elizabeth Weaver McCreary

Elizabeth Weaver-McCreary was born on January 16, 1953, in Birmingham, AL to the late Johnnie Lee and Willie Mae Weaver. Elizabeth was the fifth of six children. She was preceded in death by her brothers William James Thompson, Larry Weaver and sister Katherine Green. Elizabeth grew up going to 17th Street AOH Church of God. As a young adult she accepted Christ. She was a faithful servant of the AOH Cathedral Church of God, filling many duties for many years, even after her health started to fail.Elizabeth attended and graduated from Alabama State University with a bachelor's degree in education. She was a part of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority. She also received her master's degree from Miles College and later became an Alumni of Miles.Elizabeth met and married the love of her life Jerry McCreary. They would have been married for thirty three years this December. They shared so many great memories together. You didn't see one without the other.Elizabeth was full of life. She was a kind, loving, sweet wife, sister, mother and friend. She had the personality that everyone loved. There wasn't anything that she wouldn't do for anyone. Elizabeth taught in the Birmingham School System for 28 years. She taught at Kingston Elementary for 14 years and left there to teach at Green Acres Middle School where she taught until she retired. She was a very passionate teacher who loved her students. Elizabeth leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Jerry McCreary; two brothers Johnny (Georgietta) Weaver of Paris, KY and Carl Weaver of Birmingham, AL. her three kids LaTouyia (Lewis) Means of Montgomery AL; Kittreall (James) Kyles of Pleasant Grove, AL; and Nathan (Johnica) McCreary of Montgomery, AL. Grandchildren, Aniyah, Jerrell, Jaylen, Terrell, Amanda, Alexis, Johnathan and Jory, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
