Dorothy K. Starks

Dorothy "Katrina" Starks was born on September 13, 1957, to the late Charlie L. Shufford and stepfather, William "Bo" Shufford. She confessed Christ at an early age at Zion Hill Baptist Church.She attended Phillips High School. She worked for many years at the Eye Foundation.She departed this life on Thursday, September 19, 2019, at UAB Hospital.She was preceded in death by: her mother, Charlie L. Shufford; stepfather, William "Bo" Shufford; grandmother, Velma Lee Johnson; grandfather, Randolph Johnson, Sr.; brothers, Bobby and David Harris; sister, Wileasha Worthy; uncles, Charlie Starks and Randolph Johnson.She leaves to cherish her fond memories: her sons, Demetric (Marcie) Starks and Emmett (Tarsha) Starks; stepdaughter, Pamela (Jimmy) Berry; 11 grandchildren, DeAuza Starks, Tieira Coleman, Antonio Starks, Antonerria Davis, Demetria Starks, Joshua Davis, De Antonio Starks, Emmett Starks, Jr., Emmanuel Starks, Emory Starks, and Emiya Starks; four great-grandchildren, Qaniah Starks, London Grier, Darian Dowdell, and DKyree Starks; brother, Melvin (Deborah) Harris, Melvin, Jr., LeeEtta (Mike), and Melvin III; sister, Deborah Starks, Erika, Charles (Jasmine), and James; brother, David (Francis), Nieshel (Papa), Jemar, and Joel; sister, Velma (Quentin) and Demetrius (Zenieda); aunt, Dorothy Ellis, Christopher, and Teddy; uncle, Monica, Henrietta, Quonza, and Monique; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
