Clifford Earl Henderson, Sr., was born March 5, 1949, to the late Mr. Manuel Claude Henderson, Sr., and Pauline Gray Henderson in LaGrange, Georgia. He received his early education in the Birmingham City School System and later joined the Job Corp in Casper, Wyoming.In 1969, he married Naomi Martin and relocated to New Jersey, and was employed with U.S. Steel in Morrisville, Pennsylvania, for more than a decade. Years later, he returned to Birmingham, Alabama, where he worked and retired from Southland. Clifford confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized under the leadership of Reverend C. H. George; he was a member of the youth choir and B.T.U. In 1976, he joined Greater Faith Tabernacle U.H.C. under the leadership of Elder George W. Carthan, Sr., in Bordertown, New Jersey. Years later, after moving back to Birmingham, Alabama, he joined The House of Restoration United Methodist Church under the leadership of Pastor A.L. Lewis, Sr. He was a faithful and devoted member who dearly loved his pastor and church family. He departed this life on Wednesday, May 12, 2021.He was preceded in death by his parents; oldest son, Darrell Fletcher, sister, Carolyn Knight; and two brothers, Jerome Henderson and Dahner Henderson. Clifford leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Naomi M. Henderson of Burlington, New Jersey; one son, Clifford E. (Angela) Henderson, Jr., of Roebling, New Jersey; one daughter, UrsulaM. Henderson-Webb of Marlton, New Jersey; daughter in-law, Kischia Fletcher of Birmingham, Alabama; eight grandchildren, Cornelius D. Paige, Shalita L. Henderson, Sean J. Harris, Darrell Fletcher, Jr., Jvah Fletcher, John Marshall Fletcher, Isaiah E.Henderson, and Ava Naomi Henderson; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Deborah J. Henderson and LaSonja (Fred) Rowell, both of Birmingham, Alabama; two brothers, Albert L. Henderson and Manuel C. (Mildred) Henderson, Jr., both of Birmingham, Alabama; four sisters-in-law, Mrs. Mary E. Jiles, Lucille M. Harris, Vicena (Alfonzo) Nunn, Jr., and Charlette Henderson, all of Birmingham, Alabama; a special friend who will never be forgotten, Julia Batemon; and a host of loving and caring nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
