The Reverend Charles Leslie Mixon was born to the late Mr. David and Mrs. Mary Mixon on November 8, 1930 in Blount Springs, Alabama. He accepted Christ as his personal savior early in life and united with and served faithfully in the church at Blount Springs. He attended school in Blount County and was employed for many years at the Moore-Handley Company until his retirement. The Reverend Mixon was united in Holy Matrimony to Miss Junnie Mae Marsh on January 25, 1953 in Blount County. He later moved to Warrior, Alabama where he joined the St. James United Methodist Church. He served the church faithfully as Class Leader, Lay Leader, Sunday School Teacher, and Custodian. He also served as Pastor of the St. James United Methodist Church for more than twenty- nine years. Pastor Mixon was a member of the Fourth Sunday Community Fellowship Ministry founded in 1975 and served as President of the Fellowship's Male Chorus. He was also a devoted and dedicated member of the Five-Fold-Fellow- ship Ministry for almost twenty years and was one of the founding fathers of that ministry. He was active in the North Alabama Conference Ministerial Coalition. HE WAS A LOVER OF PEOPLE AND HIS COMMUNITY.
