Bettie Jean Johnson was born March 18, 1945, in Birmingham, Alabama to Namon Johnson, Sr. and Olivia Lewis Johnson.She confessed her love for Christ at an early age and united with New Saint James Baptist Church, where she served as an usher.Bette graduated from A.H. Parker High School and attended Talladega College majoring in Business.She was employed with the University of Alabama Birmingham Hospital in the Records Department for 30 years and retired in 2003.Bettie was an avid reader of the bible and had a love for poetry, love stories, and music.She transitioned from this life on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Brookwood Hospital.Bettie was preceded in death by her loving parents, Namon and Olivia, and her eldest brother, Namon, Jr.She heaves to cherish the memories of her life, her devoted and loving younger brother, James (Karlyn) Johnson; nieces, Kelsi ( Ira) Walters, Lori Poe, and Gina (Jeff) Grier; great-nieces, Keira Walters, Londyn Poe, Raven and Rochelle Grier; a loving great-nephew, Kory Poe, all of Birmingham, Alabama; loving first cousins, Jessie Lewis of Birmingham, Alabama and Johnnita Faye (Luke) Jackson of Union, Alabama; uncle, Joseph Johnson of Niagara Falls, New York; aunt, Henrietta Green of Montgomery, Alabama; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
