Obituary for Rosalyn Reedy

Ms. Rosalyn Reedy was born to the late Charles and Fannie Pearl Reedy on August 18, 1957 in Birmingham, Alabama. As one of the eight children, she was the devout Christian, a registered nurse and a life-long caregiver. At an early age, she confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Lonnie S. Thomas.

Rosalyn Reedy graduated from Phillips High School, Class of 1975. She continued her academic matriculation to obtain various collegiate degrees at Jefferson State Community College, Lawson State Community College, Herzing College and Beville State.

As a registered nurse, she touched many lives. She lived her life as an adventurer, traveler, avid church participant at Tittusville A.O. H. Incorporate Church of God, a lover of all things that are chocolate, and Michael Jackson’s number one fan. Although she never married or had any children, she adopted her nieces, nephews, and even great nieces and nephews, as her very own.

Rosalyn, affectionally known as “Raazie” or “RoRo”, suffered many medical conditions, which ultimately led to her departing from this life on Monday, January 27, 2020. She is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Charles Reedy, Sr. and Mrs. Fannie Pearl Reedy; siblings, Willie Benjamin Reedy, Charles Reedy, Jr. and Ed Myron Reedy.

Sister Reedy leaves a multitude of memories with family and friends. She is survived by her siblings, Annie Pearl George of Birmingham, Alabama, Johnnie Juanita (Rudolph) Mohamed of Jersey City, New Jersey, Evelyn Saintcyr of Arizona, and Yancey (Mary) Reedy of Panama City, Florida; over twenty nieces and nephews, a host of great nieces, nephews and friends.
